Happy Easter

My personal Easter message that illuminates the Gospel!

Happy Easter!

Mk. 16:5-7 (NLT) – “When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!”

Because of His death and resurrection…
we (who believe) have eternal life!

Jn. 11:25-26 (NKJV) – “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die”

2 Cor. 5:15 (NLT) – “He died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.” – One “receives” new life through faith; Believe and receive.

Rom. 6:8-11 (TPT) – “And if we (believers) were co-crucified with the Anointed One, we know that we will also share in the fullness of his life. And we know that since the Anointed One has been raised from the dead to die no more, his resurrection life has vanquished death and its power over him is finished. For by his sacrifice he died to sin’s power once and for all, but he now lives continuously for the Father’s pleasure. So let it be the same way with you! Since you are now joined with him, you must continually view yourselves as dead and unresponsive to sin’s appeal while living daily for God’s pleasure in union with Jesus, the Anointed One.”

Gal. 2:20 (NLT) – “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”

Jn. 14:20 (NLT) – “When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” Jesus is speaking to believers in this passage.

1 Cor. 15:21-22 (NLT) – So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.” – Note: Believers receive eternal life while unbelievers receive eternal destruction, i.e. eternal death. I have gone through a deep-dive regarding this in another Bible study I have been working though called “My Rebuttable to Gospel of Inclusion”. Click here to take you directly to the section of the article where I talk about believers receiving new life and unbelievers receiving eternal destruction.

1 Jn. 4:15 (AMP) – “Whoever confesses and acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God” – Romans 8:11 (AMP) – “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.”

1 Ptr. 1:18-23 (AMP) – “For you know that you were not redeemed from your useless [spiritually unproductive] way of life inherited [by tradition] from your forefathers with perishable things like silver and gold, but [you were actually purchased] with precious blood, like that of a [sacrificial] lamb unblemished and spotless, the priceless blood of Christ. For He was foreordained (foreknown) before the foundation of the world, but has appeared [publicly] in these last times for your sake and through Him you believe [confidently] in God [the heavenly Father], who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are [centered and rest] in God. Since by your obedience to the truth you have purified yourselves for a sincere love of the believers, [see that you] love one another from the heart [always unselfishly seeking the best for one another], for you have been born again [that is, reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose] not of seed which is perishable but [from that which is] imperishable and immortal, that is, through the living and everlasting word of God.

I highly recommend this Bible study in regard to Christ being the perfect sacrifice:
Hebrews 10:1-18 Jesus the Only True Sacrifice for Sin

Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice. I believe and receive your finished work!

So the part 2 of the Easter story would be:

As if Christ raising from the dead was not good enough news, it gets better!

What did Jesus do between His resurrection and ascension? We can read about that here:
John 20-21, Luke 24, Matthew 28, Mark 16, and Acts 1

What happened after the ascension is the best news of all!

Before Christ ascended to Heaven He told his disciples that the Father was going to send the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit could not come unless He went to be with the Father. So Jesus ascended and the free gift of the Holy Spirit came!

Jn. 14:25-26 (AMP) – “I have told you these things while I am still with you. But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.”

Jn. 16:7 (AMP) – “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you ]”.

Because of this we “believers” have new life, not just new life, but abundant joy-filled life with resurrection power living on the inside! It’s the good news! 🙂 Jn. 16:7, Jn. 14:16-17, Jn. 14:25-26, 2 Cor. 3:6, Jn. 6:63, Jn. 10:10, Eph. 3:19, John 17:22, Jn. 15:11, Jn. 14:27, Jn. 17:26, Luke 17:20-21. https://bit.ly/3ZSG7gi

He’s not dead but alive. Christ made a way where there was no way for Him to live inside of us. “Christ in you, the hope of glory” Col. 1:25-27 – Hallelujah!! ..and that “way” and “only way” is to believe in Jesus Christ. The New Covenant provides a new way of faith: Gal. 2:16-21, 3:23-25 (NLT), Phil. 3:7-9 (AMPC), Rom. 3:21-22, 4:16, 5:1-2 (NLT), and complete access to His presence (Heb. 10:19-25 AMPC) because of the blood of Christ and our faith in Him!

Because of His death, burial, resurrection and ascension to the Father the Holy Spirit came. The Holy Spirit who was sent by the Son who is from the Father (Jn. 15:26) and now in every believer! This is what allows Christ to live in you who believe. Col. 1:26-28.

Believe and receive! When does one receive the Holy Spirit? When they believe! In Gal. 3:2 Paul asks the believers: “Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Then Paul says “Of course not, You received the Holy Spirit because you believe the message you hear bout Christ.” Paul asked the believers again on Gal. 3:5 “I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law?” Then Paul says “Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.”

Romans 10:9-10 – “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

Read all about what happens when one believes in Christ.

Happy Easter 🙂

Why do we celebrate Easter? – A short Bible Study

The Gospel accounts of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Mat. 28:1-10, Mrk. 16:1-14, Lk. 24:1-44, Jn. 20:1-29.

For more context of Jesus’ resurrection we need to talk about His suffering, dying on the cross, being raised to new life, His ascension to Heaven to be with the Father and the coming of the Holy Spirit.

I want to start with a passage in the book of John where Jesus is trying to explain to His disciples that He was going to suffer, die on the cross and be raised to new life and how the Father was going to send an advocate, one called the helper (The Holy Spirit ), but He had to go away and be with the Father before the Holy Spirit could come.  * Keep in mind, this was all very hard to understand for the disciples. Jesus was telling His disciples what was to come very soon: His suffering, dying on the cross, being raised to new life, His ascension to Heaven to be with the Father and the coming of the Holy Spirit. It was a lot to be hearing at once. – Let’s read about that in John 14:1-30, 16:1-33, Acts 1:1-11.

What did Jesus do between His resurrection and ascension?
There were 40 days between Christ’s resurrection and ascension. During that time, he appeared to many and ministered to His disciples and apostles, preparing them for His ascension into Heaven and His triumphant return.

Homework. Read full chapters that talk about the events that took place between Christ’s resurrection and Ascension. This is a very important part of the Bible to understand. – John 20-21, Luke 24, Matthew 28, Mark 16, Acts 1, 1 Cor. 15

Before Christ ascended to Heaven, He told his disciples that the Father was going to send the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit could not come unless He went to be with the Father. So, Jesus ascended and the free gift of the Holy Spirit came!

Because of His death, burial, resurrection and ascension to the Father the Holy Spirit came. The Holy Spirit who was sent by the Son who is from the Father (Jn. 15:26) and now in every believer! This is what allows Christ to live in you who believe. Col. 1:26-28.
